To infuse a combination of private, nonprofit and governmental resources to provide intervention strategies to reverse negative social and economic trends that are impacting an otherwise stable neighborhood.

Revitalize Neighborhoods

Strategies include:

  • Home improvement grants and homeownership workshops
  • Aesthetic improvements (e.g. sidewalk, beautification)
  • Human service programs and recreation improvements
  • Façade improvement programs
  • Small business loans
  • Increased patrols and crime reduction initiatives
  • Concentrating city services

Grand River- Greenfield

Grand River- Greenfield: Enhance Commercial Retail/ Improve City Services

Boundaries: Jeffries Fwy. to Fenkell, Greenfield to Schaefer

NDNI Strategy: Revitalize

Vision: To utilize the Grand River- Greenfield commercial corridor as a catalyst to transform the neighborhood into a thriving and attractive community where residents can live, shop, work, worship and play.

Osborn

Osborn Community: Youth- Centered Community Building

Boundaries: 6 Mile to 8 Mile, Gratiot to Van Dyke

NDNI Strategy: Revitalize

Vision: To build a community that maintains children and youth as a priority in terms of business development, neighborhood safety and in the creation of fun places to play, grow and live.
