Redevelop

To completely overhaul an area where extreme blight and abandoned structures exist and create an entirely new land use strategy for the neighborhood which will benefit citizens in the existing and surrounding areas.

Redevelop Neighborhoods

  • North End (extended to I-75)
  • Brightmoor (targeting impact areas)

Strategies include:

  • Creative options
  • Assemblage of large tracks for alternative uses  (e.g. parks and green spaces)
  • Relocation and/ or consolidation of existing residents

North End

North End: Civic Leadership and Neighborhood Beautification

Boundaries: East Grand Blvd. to Webb, I-75 to Woodward

NDNI Strategy: Redevelop

Vision: To completely transform the North End neighborhood by developing and implementing a comprehensive community and economic development strategy that will change the physical landscape, create linkages for economic opportunity and renew the fabric of the neighborhood.

Brightmoor

Brightmoor: Community Building and Resident Leadership

Boundaries: Grand River to Schoolcraft, Evergreen to Telegraph

NDNI Strategy: Redevelop

Vision: To transform the Brightmoor neighborhood into a thriving, safe and attractive community that promotes economic opportunity and stability for families by utilizing aggressive redevelopment and crime reduction strategies.
